Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada. She is American. Her work has been featured on more than 20 studio albums. DiFranco's songs are classified as folk and alternative rock. But, they have influences from hip hop as well as jazz, and punk. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as the feminist's icon, and Grammy-winning artist is considered the creator of DIY music. It was one of the first artists to start their own labels in the year 90. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd, 1970. She was her parents Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco, who had made acquaintance while studying at in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Both her parents were both from Montreal descent. Ani diFranco wrote and performed the song 32 Flavors. The song is from her album from 1995 Not a Pretty Girl, that was her sixth studio release. It was also featured on the soundtrack for the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco has since apologized after it became known that she was scheduled to hold an event for three days at the site of a Louisiana ex-slave plantation. She cancelled it but the majority of people (including the author of this article) did not show any remorse. DiFranco released a second apology a couple of days after the first. While she's been referred to by the name of Little Folksinger, her music has embraced many styles and collaborations that range from Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. The singer lives in New Orleans. Ani DiFranco is married to Kristen Ford. When she was 14, she started to write her own music. They were played in caf s and bars through her teenage years. DiFranco was a graduate of her Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts high school in the year 16 and started attending classes at Buffalo State College.
