With her personal highlights so far including getting hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to accompany him on stage during the YouTube Brandcast in May 2013 Niykee has kept up her songwriting regimen despite the ups and downs of recent times. Being a magnet for producers, Niykee constantly sifts through the numerous beats sent to her. She has found that the majority are a source of new songs. In just five seconds, I know whether a track is good or not. Then I get an idea of the song and write it immediately. My guitar sits on the porch, and I just let my lyrics flow. It's usually done within thirty minutes. As she continues develop her skills as a lyricist, Niykee explains that the pain of her past serves as an endless source of unimaginable inspiration. My experience of pain as a child as a child as well as the loss of my sister is still reflected in my songs, even if they're not literally. It shapes my songs and creates a deeper understanding behind all things that's an important thing for me. I want to be able to say that I'll be able to listen to any one of my songs in 20 years later and be proud of what I wrote.
